David Norris
David Norris is in his 31st year of teaching and has been the Head Director at Harker Heights High School since its opening in 2000.

David grew up as the son of a Military Chaplain and has moved all over the world. He started his formal music training at Copperas Cove Jr. High and graduated from Lathrop HS in Fairbanks, Alaska. He then moved back to the 'lower 48' to pursue a degree in music education at Cameron University where he graduated in 1990.
He started his teaching career at Copperas Cove Jr. High in 1990, the same place where he began playing music.

David knows what it's like to not like school but to love the fine arts classes that school provides. He prides himself in providing an environment conducive to both learning music and growing as a young adult. Students in his program are pushed to succeed academically and hold themselves to high standards in all that they do.
Lisa Cazares
Mrs. Cazares, like many of our students, grew up as a military child. She graduated from Lampasas High School in 2010 then moved on to receive her Bachelor’s Degree in Music Education from Tarleton State University in 2015. Mrs. Cazares started her teaching career back at Lampasas High School alongside her high school band directors that influenced her so greatly to pursue music education. In 2016 Mrs. Cazares seized the opportunity to join the staff at Harker Heights High School where she has grown the Avalon Color Guard program and has had the pleasure of leading the Symphonic Band to earn consistent Superior Ratings.
Mrs. Cazares and her husband Rafael enjoy spending their weekends with their 2 dogs, Lady and Kaia. In their off time they enjoy spending time with family and friends and traveling.
Mrs. Cazares’s professional affiliations include the Texas Music Educators Association, the Texas Bandmasters Association, and Tau Beta Sigma.
Eric Skinner
Eric Skinner is in his first year with the Harker Heights band.
Peter Emerson
Former musician United States Marine Band, 3rd MAW, recovering theatre musical director, former house manager Blue Man Group, Boston. Jazz pianist, composer, arranger, singer. Formerly sold Steinway pianos in Los Angeles. I do lots of commercial music transcriptions. I now teach music production, music theory, and Jazz ensembles at Harker Heights high school and I’m on music staff at First Baptist Church of Waco. Oh yeah, I’ve recently discovered that I really like tennis.
